Executive Board Minutes
 

March 26, 2009

Those in attendance were: Jim McConnell, Terry Altman, Greg Walker, Bill Stock, Barbara Miller-Webb and Gary Balke.

At 6:25 PM, the meeting of the Executive Board was called to order by Jim McConnell.

On March 26, approximately (20) members of Chapter 17 met at 5:00 PM at the Paulo Products facility on West Park Avenue for a scheduled plant tour. Divided into two groups, Plant Manager Bob Innes and Division Sales Manager Gene Margherita spent the next hour and a half explaining the processes and the equipment Paulo uses to heat treat machined parts to customers’ specifications. After the tour, Paulo allowed the Executive Board to hold its meeting in one of the conference rooms.

General Discussion:
The minutes from the last Executive Board meeting held on January 15, 2009, were introduced.A motion to approve the minutes was raised and seconded.

Treasurer’s Report:
Greg Walker, Treasurer, reported that the checking account’s balance is $13,380.14 and the Education Fund’s balance is $13,561.00 with a total balance of $26,941.14.

General Reports:
Terry Altman reported on his progress in collecting outstanding table fees from of last year’s Supplier’s Night. Terry stated that since our last meeting in January, of the seven vendors mentioned, three have paid their fees. This leaves only four vendors that have yet to pay their table rental fees.

Upcoming Events and Programs:
- Barb Miller-Webb has been in contact with AWMI and NTMA and has finalized a joint venture together with Chapter 17. This coming April 24, at the Heart of St. Charles Banquet Center, guest speaker Glennon Forgarty, Attorney at Law, will speak on the subject of Product Liability.
- Greg Walker is working on a couple of events. The first is a mini-seminar on Water Jet and Hard Milling to be held at Zimmerman-MacDonald in June. The second event is a plant tour of the Briggs and Stratton facility in Poplar Bluff with a target date sometime in October.
- The Chapter 17 summer family event for this year had been discussed with several suggestions; a Rascal’s baseball game, a trip to the St. Louis Zoo and a trip to Grant’s Farm. The grant’s Farm trip was approved and Barb Miller-Webb was to contact them for a suitable date and time. Subsequently, Sunday, July 12 has been selected at the date for this event.

New Business:
The next Executive Board meeting is scheduled for May 28, 2009 at Sybergs.

The meeting was adjourned at 6:45 PM.
